I do not descend from the TATE marriage between James Lee Tate and that of my Great Grandmother, Madore E. Page Brown, but from her first husband, Parmer Sanford Brown. This is information is posted so that Tate family members might benefit and add to this genealogy for Carolyn Tate Propst, Tom Hibbard, and Larry Tate. First Generation
1. James Lee TATE was born on 11 Jun 1836 in SC, died on 28 Feb 1921
in Wagoner, OK and was buried at the Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK
(Tate, J.L. b. 11 June 1836 d. 28 Feb 1921 S. Main Row 03).
A horn that belong to James Lee Tate was given to Joseph A. Brown.
It was a hunting horn and, according to Tate family members, is
around 110 years old [1979]. The horn is now in my possession,
being handed down to me by my father, Virgil A. Brown, son of Joseph
Brown. James married Marthey GINNINGS on 7 Dec 1854. (Marthey
GINNINGS was born on 27 Sep 1832.)
They had the following children:

3 M ii. Robert A. TATE was born on 16 May 1857 and died on 28
Jul 1858.
+ 4 M iii. William A. TATE was born on 8 Apr 1861, died on 28 Jun
1939 in Portia, Lawrence, AR and was buried in Portia
Cemetery, Lawrence, AR
5 M iv. Thomas D. TATE was born on 18 Feb 1865.
+ 6 M v. John M. TATE was born on 29 Jan 1867
+ 7 M vi. Henry Giffin "Giff" TATE was born on 17 Jul 1869, died
about 1955 in Lawrence Co, AR and was buried in
Lawrence Memorial Cemetery, Walnut Ridge, Lawrence, AR
+ 8 M vii. Lee Washington TATE was born on 12 Jun 1871 and died
on 8 Jun 1942
9 M viii. Mary E. TATE was born on 16 Mar 1889 and died
on 12 Mar 188.
James also married Mrs. Madora Emily PAGE BROWN on 2 Mar 1899 in
Lawrence Co, AR. (Mrs. Madora Emily BROWN was born on 6 Jun 1857
in Clinton Co, MI, died in Feb 1928 in Old Walnut Ridge, Lawrence,
AR and was buried in Kelley Cem, Lawrence, AR.)
Madora Emily PAGE married Parmer Sanford Brown in Clinton Co,
Michigan. He moved them to Lawrence County, Arkansas in the fall
of 1894 from Headlee, White County, Indiana. He returned to sell
the farm the next summer, took ill and died there on Sept. 21,
1895 after he had sold the farm.

4. William A. TATE was born on 8 Apr 1861, died on 28 Jun 1939 in
Portia, Lawrence, AR and was buried in Portia Cemetery,
Lawrence, AR. William married Francis C. EAST on 22 Apr 1894 in
Lawrence Co, AR. (Francis C. EAST was born in 1872.)
6. John M. TATE was born on 29 Jan 1867. John married Lavenia FRANKS.
(Lavenia FRANKS was born in 1865.)
7. Henry Giffin "Giff" TATE was born on 17 Jul 1869, died about 1955
in Lawrence Co, AR and was buried in Lawrence Mem Cem, Lawrence, AR.
Henry married Josaphine TILLEY. (Josaphine TILLEY was buried in
Newark, AR.)

Lee married Elizabeth RASH on 2 Oct 1892. (Elizabeth RASH was
born on 13 Nov 1869 in Stuttgart, Germany, died on 25 Sep 1925 in
Imboden, Lawrence, AR and was buried in Hope Cem, Imboden, Lawrence,
AR.)

10. Lillie Lee TATE, b. 25 Aug 1881; d. 6 Oct 1956. She first marrried Charley Luce on 2 Jan 1908, then Arthur Glenn on 2 Feb 1914, and then Toney B. COLE. They had at least the following children:

married Ester F. BERRY. Ester died on 18 September 2005 in Walnut Ridge,
Arkansas. They are buried at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.

15. James Miller TATE was born on 19 Jul 1893 in Lawrence Co, AR, died
on 12 Mar 1958 in Black Rock, Lawrence, AR and was buried in Black
Rock Cem, Lawrence, AR. James married Virginia Irene SMITH on 14
