A Lucy Barlow and two girls are living with Jesse Brown in the 1860 census of Oswego Co, NY, later, in the 1880, you will find a William and Lucy Bogardus living there also.
Why would Mary Alta Brown Wright have written to her mother's cousin asking about this Bogardis (Bogardus) family? Once I found out that Lucy Brown Barlow Bogardus was Jessie Brown's daughter, this answered the question for me. She had to have been told that this family was related to our family. SO, does that mean that Lucy was Sanford (Sant) Brown's sister? This would make Sanford a son of Jesse and Nancy Brown of Oswego County.
